This is the last photo ever taken of Stimpson and I. He was put to sleep a few minutes later. This was the worst day of my life.

This necklace was made for me by my best friend, Lisa Zomer, for Christmas 2003. The locket contains some of Stimpson's hair, and a B.B. It is undoubtedly the best Christmas present I have ever received.

I commisioned a local artist, Laura Drabant, to make an urn for Stimpson's ashes. None of the standard urns would do. I couldn't be happier with the result. It's very smooth and lends itself to being handled, which is how Stimpy would have wanted it.

The origin of Stimpy's B.B.:

I often travel for work, usually out of state. One summer I had to travel to Boston and asked my friend Joe, who lived in the same building as I, to watch over Stimpy for me while I was out of town. It was common practice for Joe and I to let our cats out into the parking lot for exercise, as we didn't live near any major roads, and we both lived on the ground floor making it easy to keep an eye on them. Well, sure enough, the worst possible scenario happened to Joe. Stimpy made a mad dash across the street, for reasons unknown, and was hit by a car. I still feel far more sorry for Joe than Stimpy, because Stimp wasn't hurt in the least. I still think Stimpy actually ran into the car himself, not the car into him. Anyway, Joe being the concerned person he is, rushed Stimpy to the Kitty Klinic. They took some X-Rays and looked him over a bit, but he was 100% OK. The X-Rays did turn up something interesting, however: they found a B.B. inside Stimpy, near his hip. It's origin is unknown, most likely from the time before I took him in (what on earth did they do to this cat before I got him?). Another mystery. When Stimpy was put to sleep, I asked the doctor to remove the B.B. for me, if possible. The doctor went out of her way to remove it for me, and called me later the next week to let me know that she had set it aside for me. For months I carried the B.B. around in my pocket, with a small clump of hair (not difficult to find in my apartment). Now the B.B. resides in the locket Lisa gave me for Christmas. The locket never leaves me.
